Service Description

Immerse yourself in a day of relaxation and rejuvenation with our Summer Yoga & TaiChi QiGong Day Retreat right here in Kirkwall. We will begin with a soft start grabbing a hot drink of your choice and settling in to the space with a chat. Practice will begin with sensory relaxation and a Yoga Nidra with Adele. After a short tea break, Hilary will guide you through a 'Shu Jing Gong' TaiChi QiGong practice from an ancient buddhist movement methodology. A light fresh lunch will be provided with some delicious seasonally inspired treats (suitable for dietary requirements inc. vegetarian, vegan, dairy free and celiac). The afternoon will consolidate the Tai Chi learnings from the morning and provide some wind down seasonally inspired restorative yoga sessions to round off the retreat day. Saturday: 9am - Tea & Chat 9:30am - Sensory Relaxation & Yoga Nidra 10:15am - Break 10:30am - Shu Jing Gong - Part 1 1pm - Lunch 2pm - Shu Jing Gong - Part 2 3pm - Break 3:15pm - Summer Yin style yoga 4:15pm - Yoga Nidra 5pm - Finish The Yoga and Tai Chi QiGong sessions designed within this retreat will provide you with a well-rounded experience to reset and recharge your mind, body, and spirit. Just what's needed for this busy summer season. In out Yin yoga practice summer is viewed through the lens of Yin and Yang balance, embodying the peak of Yang energy with its warmth and abundant activity. This season is associated with the heart, the fire element, and the emotion of joy, inviting us to nourish our inner fire (ambition, desire, aims & goals) while maintaining harmony with Yin principles of softness (acceptance, patience, groundwork). Our Yoga and Tai Chi retreat will embrace this seasonal energy, guiding you through practices that balance the invigorating heat of summer with calming, restorative Yin activities. Join us to cultivate joy, enhance heart health, and harmonise your energy, all within the serene embrace of nature. Optional: Join Hilary for 2 hrs on Sunday 10am-12noon to consolidate the Shu Jing Gong TaiChi Qigong elements from Saturday's practice.
